Ticor Title Portland- Maggie Metcalf

I started my career in Title and Escrow in 1981 as a part-time messenger, when my best friend offered my younger brother a job! I took the job instead of my 16 year old brother, even though I was told I was over-qualified having just graduated with a B.S. Degree in Economics from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. After 6 months as a messenger, I spent the next 3 years in Sales and was then promoted to County Manager at the tender and inexperienced age of 26. I have been very fortunate to work in the markets of Ventura, Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California and am currently managing the Tri-County for Ticor Title Company in Portland, Oregon.  My entire career has been spent with the absolute best company in the business, Fidelity National Financial, which includes Ticor Title as well as numerous other title companies and underwriters. June, my wife and best friend of 24 years and I, love Portland and are blessed to live in a remodeled 100 year old farm house on 5 acres, surrounded by 5 dogs and 4 horses. We  have 2 grown children and 2 over-the-top grandsons. Now you know what I do in my spare time!

What is amazing to me is that after 31 years in the industry, wow that sounds like a long time, I am still excited to come to work every day. A reason for that may be due to two management tenants that I have continued to subscribe to throughout my career. The first is, "Hire the smartest and best people you can and get out of their way"! The other is informally known as “MBWA”, or Management By Walking Around, which I learned from my Dad. This is the “anti-ivory tower" method if you will, and has always kept me connected to our business at the ground level, as well as to the most important part of my success....the People I work with. Every step of the way and now in Portland, I have the honor of working with Teammates that are flat out the hardest working, most professional, knowledgeable, and fun-loving group of people you can imagine. That is my success from the word Go!

I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our Team! Thank you for your time and if I can ever be of service to you, please contact me directly. Thank you.
